Workflow Manager
Coulter & Justus, PC, a Knoxville based CPA firm, is seeking qualified candidates to join our team in West Knoxville. Our firm provides quality tax and assurance services to clients across a variety of industries, and we are seeking a pleasant and highly motivated individual to support our team. This is a hands-on, management role in our tax department serving 30+ people using the latest CPA industry technology and software. The Workflow Manager plays a critical role in ensuring our team operates efficiently and collaboratively. This individual will monitor and balance workloads across staff, proactively solve bottlenecks, and serve as a central resource that team members feel comfortable approaching for support. In addition, this role will help introduce and develop AI-driven workflows and process improvements as our firm begins incorporating new technology. This is not a remote position, although there is limited flexibility for remote work. Responsibilities
- Develop and improve workflows, including implementing AI tools and automation to enhance efficiency
- Collaborate with management to determine and monitor departmental objectives
- Oversee scheduling and completion of work assignments among team members
- Manage and balance workloads across the tax team to ensure deadlines are met without overburdening staff
- Monitor project progress and reallocate work when capacity becomes uneven
- Serve as a go to resource for staff, fostering an approachable and supportive team environment
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions
- Actively pursue positive client experiences by building relationships and providing solutions
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications
- 4-year degree preferred
- A self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in or experience with AI tools, automation, or workflow optimization
- Prior experience with a professional services firm preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and peers
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Ability to balance workloads and solve problems in real time
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a paperless environment
- Display flexibility to meet changing firm needs
